Ghandi Root (Homalomena aromatic) known as Sugandh mantri in Hindi, is a tropical, perennial herb commonly found in Assam and adjoining states of the sub-Himalayan regions of India. Many tribes in this region use the leaves and rhizomes of the plant as a paste for joint-pains and skin infections. Our Ghandi Root essential oil is steam distilled from the dried rhizomes, sustainably wild crafted in North East India.
The essential oil is light yellow to golden in colour and has a deep, rich, earthy aroma with an exotic floral sweetness typical of linalool and refreshing note due to its terpinen-4-ol content that is also found in tea tree oil. There are subtle warm almost smoky caramel undertones throughout this special oil.
The rhizomes are known for many medicinal properties such as analgesic, antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antispasmodic and sedative qualities. Ghandi Root essential oil is useful in stress relief, helping aid relaxation and ease worry, add to a diffuser or massage oil at bedtime to help create a restful, positive atmosphere.
