QUALITIES: Powerful antiseptic it is active against all three varieties of infectious organisms; bacteria, fungi and viruses. An immuno-stimulant, increases the bodies ability to fight off infections. A very useful essential oil second only to lavender. Ideal for vaporising to kill germs - especially beneficial during the winter months when people are suffering from colds and flu. Useful 'cleansing' agent for skin, and can be used for all skin care from burns to nappy rash. Very helpful in treating candida and thrush. Can be used as a disinfectant. Repels fleas on pets add to shampoo base or apply neat to the outside of the pets collar. Employed extensively in the cosmetics/toiletries industries. Tea tree is an ingredient in our First Aid roller ball. An invaluable oil.
Blends well with Lavender, Lavadin, Clary sage, Rosemary, Pine, Geranium, Ylang ylang and the Spice oils.
A member of the Myrtaceae family, it is an evergreen shrubby tree growing up to seven metres, with green or bluish green leaves, that are soft, and narrow almost needle like. The flowers are creamy white and loved by bees. The trees are easily coppiced, and are fast growing. They favour swampy areas. Wild trees cut for foliage are usually ready for re-cutting in sixteen to twenty-four months, half this time if plantation grown. Native to Australia.
